A society newspaper, containing accounts of London politics, sporting events, theatre and society life. In March 1828 it changed its title from High Life in London to High Life: and Sunday Fashionable Post, and changed to a larger format. These changes were explained in an editorial note in the first issue of the new title, which stated:

It having been intimated to us by a great number of our Subscribers, that a Paper of the folio size would be most acceptable to them, we have at once acceded to their wishes, as will be seen in our present number. It has likewise been objected that the title of 'High Life in London' being somewhat exclusive in its meaning, - as in a manner shutting out intelligence connected with the haut of the world at large,- we have substituted that of 'High Life,' as being likewise more comprehensive and characteristic of our determination to give every kind of intelligence in any way associated with fashionable society.’

As High Life in London it included an illustrated masthead, and a number of engravings, illustrating aspects of London life. The first three issues also contained critiques of the press, focusing on The Morning Herald (1780-1869), John Bull (1820-1892) and The Standard (1827-).
